Amanda Thompson

This is the first collection of Amanda Thompson’s paintings to have appeared in a Great Atlantic catalogue, though her works has been exhibited at our Falmouth Gallery over the past nine months.

Amanda Thompson was educated at Ravensbourne College of Art & Design, Kent and Goldsmiths College, London. A teacher of art and art history, Amanda has been professionally painting for 10 years. She has had exhibitions in Bristol, Bath, Oxford, London, Monmouth, Whitstable, Dorset, Cambridge and most recently at the Sidney Cooper Gallery in Christ Church University College, Canterbury.

“The coastline with its vast cliffs, seas and skies, marked by seasonal changes and dramatic tidal flows, has both developed and informed my working practice over the years. Living just yards from the shoreline I experience the daily extremes of the sea from blustering northern gales to soft mists and balmy sunlit blue days; turbulent swells, stillness, vastness, light and silence. The paintings are nearly always done in the studio retaining the feeling and memory of a specific sea or landscape rather than its actual given form.”

Paintings may be collected by arrangement or we can arrange delivery from as little as £20 depending on size and distance. Money back if not entirely satisfied (provided we are informed within 3 days of your work being collected/delivered). Cheques and all major credit cards accepted. Colours may vary between the original paintings and the printed reproductions. All paintings are framed.
