James Bartholomew lives and works in Lancashire but is a frequent visitor to Snowdonia and South West Wales and to the coastal areas of West Cornwall. A graduate of Leicester Polytechnic (1992), James has exhibited widely in both solo and mixed shows including The Royal Society of Marine Artists, The Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour and The Pastel Society.

He has collected several notable awards including the Sir Peter Scott Award and is a council member of The Manchester Academy of Fine Art. As an Illustrator, he has worked for The Sunday Times, The British Tourist Authority and BBC Holidays (as a Travel Illustrator). Several paintings have been successfully auctioned at Christies and Bonhams at various wildlife sales.

His work has been exhibited at The Great Atlantic Galleries in St Just and Monmouth and has been widely admired since it was introduced in the spring of 2004. The small collection of work featured in this catalogue will be followed in July by a major solo exhibition at The Great Atlantic Falmouth Gallery.
