"Most of my work springs from my subconscious state while doodling. I often only have a vague idea of what I am doing when I start a piece. The work becomes an exploration of line and form, each leading on and suggesting new possibilities. This way, the making of a piece remains vital and exciting for most of the process. I can't put it any better than the Inuit sculptor Tiktak who said 'I do not think out what I will do. My thoughts come out while I work. My work expresses my thoughts.'

"We all seem to like titles and I've nailed some of the work firmly into certain boxes. But please feel free to find your own labels. I find it amazing how our perception of an object can be altered by just a few words.

" I would like to thank Joe and Juliet for their kind help and support, and also the Beatski Brothers for sacrificing their Christmas break and, with lashings of vegan beef and vodka, for producing the soundtrack."
