Eric Pentecost was born in Brighton, Sussex in 1951 and received his art education at West Sussex College of Art and Design.
He continued with his art through the years on a spare time basis, also producing illustrations for local companies from time to time. He settled down with his wife Sally in the West Country in the late 1970s and started selling artwork at local exhibitions around Bristol and Bath.
In 2000, Eric gained a number of important painting commissions which rekindled his passion as an artist, in 2006 he completed a study in Life Drawing at the Bristol Academy of Art and has been exhibiting in Cornwall, Monmouthshire and in Brittany ever since and in 2007/2008 became an essential participant in the Great Atlantic Road Show touring exhibition theme called Something Old and Something New, where he showed with three other contemporary artists alongside printed works by the 20th century masters Marc Chagall, Eric Gill, David Hockney and Henri Matisse.
Since Eric began exhibiting with The Great Atlantic Galleries in 2007, everything he has brought in has promptly sold! Such commercial success goes some way to explain why this is Erics second show of 2008 at The Great Atlantic Bank Square Gallery in St Just. The other explanation is that we really like his work and see Eric as a success story waiting to happen!
