The charity vehicle of The Great Atlantic Galleries

At the very end of, 2004 we lost our dear friend and colleague, Christine Rogers. Hayley and Michael Jay, directors of The Great Atlantic Galleries, had known Christine as a friend, a fellow horse rider - in Hayley’s case - and an employee for many years. Throughout that time Christine had been “living with” rather than “suffering from” cancer. In fact she lived with the disease for almost thirty years following the initial dreadful diagnosis.

To the many people who knew her, fellow cancer sufferers or not, Christine was a beacon of hope, living a richly fulfilling and active life through frequent relapses and many lengthy remissions. Hers was a life of optimism in the face of menace, determination in the face of illness and triumph in the face of threat.

The next fund-raising for the Equinox Appeal - Cancer research UK will take place at the Cotman Gallery, Kings College School, Wimbledon 24th April - 18th May 2009. Three artists will be showing there work there and 5% of all sales will go to the cause.
