Myles Oxenford has been a regular exhibitor at The Great Atlantic Galleries over the past three years and has now found nationwide acclaim with his strident landscapes and evocative still life paintings. Though born in Plymouth and eduacted in Scotland, Myles is firmly rooted for the time being in the Cornish port of Falmouth, where he graduated from the reputable Art College.

Of his new work, Myles has this to say: “I have recently taken a new approach to painting, having been inspired by a three-month winter stay in Cape Town. The stronger light, vibrant colours and different landscape encouraged me to play with the paint and to create gestural brush marks. I have been aiming to seek out the natural space, light and atmosphere of a landscape - to find greater clarity. I have also used this approach in painting biographical still lifes - using personal objects of a special meaning to me.”
