Martin has travelled widely throughout the UK and Europe and is a well known author of guidebooks for walkers. This activity followed teaching and eventually led to his present concentration on painting. Whilst now living on the edge of Snowdonia, painting the coast and mountains of Wales, he is still drawn with an undying passion to the cliffs and beaches of Cornwall to which he returns as often as possible. Smaller pieces are often painted direct from observation; larger pieces evolve back in the studio from notes, sketches and photographs. His work can be found in many public and private collections.
