Colours may vary between the original paintings and the reproductions shown here. All paintings are framed . Carrie Taylor studied at Harrogate College of Art and Bradford Art College and was also taught by Jean Georges Simon, a French artist who became a major influence on her work. Simon was a close friend of Bourdelle and Modigliani when he lived and worked in Paris. Carrie lives in St. Just-in-Penwith, where her lifelong fascination with natural history is blended in her paintings with her observations of hedgerows, moorland, water and rocks throughout the seasons. Carrie has received much success with her paintings since placing them with us over the past year and is fast becoming a popular addition to The Great Atlantics team of artists. From the first, Penwith gave me a feeling of timelessness in an ancient landscape roughened by Atlantic weathers. From the outset I became enchanted with the seemingly endless variety of plants, which make up the wild gardens that sprout from Cornish hedges. This exhibition of paintings reflects my exploration of innumerable pathways, along which I have been rewarded at every twist and turn by riots of colour - yellows, greens and pinks in spring, browns and golds in autumn; light and shade throughout. And not forgetting the mayhem of abundant buzzing insects!
