Krista Taylor

Painting mainly in oils, Krista Taylor’s work is at once bold and personal, abstract and figurative. Her inspiration rises from personal observations of and reflections on, the natural world, current affairs and the subtle rhythms and structures of life and relationships. Krista’s interests vary: there is a combination of figurative, landscape and abstract pieces, where the focus shifts from the narrative in the figurative work, through observations of her inspiring natural surroundings in Cornwall, to an exploration of form, texture and colour in the abstract. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Designers and has recently downsized her long-standing design business to pursue her passion for painting and commit to the growing demand for her work. She is predominantly self-taught and has lived in Cornwall since 1984 when she moved from Lancashire to complete her foundation studies at Falmouth College of Arts. This is a series of studies based on local Cornish scenery and the subtle colours and strong forms of the winter coastline.
