myles oxenford Spring meadow The Great Atlantic Map Works Gallery is pleased to present a new collection of paintings by Myles Oxenford. Myles Oxenford was born in Plymouth and paints full time from a studio in Falmouth, where he has remained since graduating from Falmouth College of Art in 2000. His work has been exhibited widely throughout Cornwall and also in London at The Unicorn Gallery and The Affordable Art Fair, Battersea. In the past year his work has been selected for exhibition in the Discerning Eye competition at the Mall Gallery, London and also with Thompsons Gallery, London. Myles has been exhibiting at The Great Atlantic Map Works Gallery since 2001 and we are delighted to be able to stage the first major solo collection of work by this exciting young landscape painter. We have confidence that Myles Oxenford will undoubtedly go on to become a major name in landscape painting in Britain. In my paintings I want to convey the feeling of sitting in and becoming part of the landscape. I primarily paint outside to capture the light and movement that make the landscape alive to me. By exploring colour and brush marks I am constantly experimenting with different ways of balancing a desire to represent and abstract the Cornish landscape
