I watch, observe and try to capture the saturated colour, intense
colour and clashing colour of windbreaks, deckchairs, beach towels,
palms, yachts, heat. I work in response to this rich pattern of
shape, colour and vibrancy with a speed and an energy that only
a long, hot summer can bring.
Glyn Macey was born and raised in the fishing village of Newlyn,
West Cornwall in 1969. He still lives and works in the area, painting
and drawing the essence that shapes the landscapes and the people
who live in it.
