Neil Davies is rapidly emerging as a leading painter of landscapes in the west-country. From his home near the rugged cliffs of Penwith’s north coast, just west of St Ives, Neil roams along the coast and over the moors.

His paintings are both harsh and strident, evocative and bold; his rendition of sea and sky, in particular, captures the wild essence of his environment.

Neil’s work is much sought after by private collectors and he is approached for exhibitions by an increasing number of commercial galleries.

After spending his early childhood in a small fishing village in Scotland, Neil Davies moved south and became a student at Farnham School of Art. After graduation, there followed a lengthy stay in Florence before lecturing at Guildford School of Art and West Surrey College of Art.

It was whilst teaching, that Neil first became fascinated with the nature of the Penwith landscape which still forms the basis of his inspiration today. He now paints full time, working from his studio on the north Penwith coast at Hellesveor.

Neil Davies’ first solo exhibition at The Great Atlantic in September 2003 was a huge success. He is now a regular exhibitor and we are pleased to present this new collection of vivid and atmospheric paintings and drawings.
