Ros Salter was born in West Cornwall and has lived there most
of her life. She gave up teaching to concentrate on painting the
coastal landscapes of Penwith full time. The laying down of colour
in my paintings is obsessional and once this flows, familiar headland
shapes and configurations of coastal stretches arise like spectres
from a past memory.
