Alexander Mackenzie (1923-2002)
Liverpool born Alexander MacKenzie was a successful teacher and artist, whose work was strongly associated with that of his friend, the artist, John Wells. An abstract painter noted for his bold creations, MacKenzie spent much of his life living and working around Newlyn and Penzance but exhibited widely at home and abroad. His works are now much sought after and fetch strong prices at auctions.
