“This group of paintings is the result of trips to north and south Cornwall and a short recent visit to the island of Tresco. In addition, there are three paintings from what is now my home territory of Lelant, just outside St Ives. It has always been my dream to have a place in Cornwall and this year it has come true.

“I make endless sketches and notes on the spot but the final paintings are made in my studio in Leicestershire. This has recently been enlarged and the scale of the pictures and the freedom of the mark making reflect this.

“I continue to experiment with the paint itself, allowing random elements to come into play and give the painting a life of its own. A recent fascination with water and reflections has changed the emphasis of some of my compositions, although many are still highly structured. I hope you enjoy them!”
