Walter Keeler (1942- )

Monmouth area resident Walter Keeler is one of the leading UK potters. His work can be found in museum collections and private households around the world. His ambitious, intelligent and functional pots stem from a passion for history, for craft and for stories told through everyday things. For many, Walter Keeler’s pots represent the very best in contemporary studio pottery

As a student and teacher in the sixties he found himself at the heart of an emerging, vibrant studio pottery movement. Today he continues to delight us with the distinctive approach of salt and earthenware glazes, which clothe the pots in tactile and tempting colours and textures.
