Swanpool evening My starting point for this body of work came out of moving house from St Ives to a middle point between the new Great Atlantic gallery in Falmouth and the original Map Works Gallery in St Just. From my new location on near the coast between Helston and Penzance, I was well placed to observe the coastal area from the Fal estuary around to the Lizard peninsula and then on to the Penwith coast with all its familiarity. Each part of the coast has its unique topography. The paintings are intended to speak of the atmosphere that the weather creates at each location. Gary Long, Tresowes, Cornwall, August 2005 Please call 01326 318452 / 01736 788911 or e-mail: gallery@greatatlantic.co.uk to reserve the painting of your choice.
