Lucy Toop, who is currently traveling in the southern hemisphere, has strong family connections to the waterside Cornish villages of Mousehole and Flushing. She studied at Chelsea School of Art (Foundation), Surrey Institute of Art & Design (BA) and Winchester School of Art (MA). She has taught in Further and Higher Education centers and enjoyed a sponsorship at Artspace, Bristol and a residency at St Mary’s Girls’ School, Oxon. Lucy is now a professional artist making her living from painting and sculpting.

This small collection of paintings stems from Lucy’s wanderings on and around the North and South coasts of west Cornwall. Many of her paintings feature paths that lead to the ever present ocean over lush grassy banks and through sheltered valleys. Others look at the edge of the land from a foreshore perspective.
