Snowdon from the South
23.5 x 31.5” 60 x 80cm acrylic on canvas

The Great Atlantic Church Street Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by Martin Collins.

Martin Collins spent his childhood and early adult life in the West Country and lived near Falmouth for a while. Later on, with a degree in Fine Art and a qualified teacher, he successfully exhibited paintings, prints and photographs in galleries around the Midlands and North of England. His work appears in public and many private collections.

In the mid-1980’s Martin left teaching, moved to North Wales and entered publishing as a freelance outdoor writer and photographer, producing guidebooks for walkers. Parallel to this he continued to paint, utilising the rich store of visual experiences built up by exploring the mountains, moors and coast, particularly of Wales and the far South West in all weathers and seasons. He now paints full time and his work is in demand by all those who appreciate his unique vision and the quality of workmanship in the finished images.

Martin lives with his wife and teenage children on the edge of Snowdonia, visiting not only South and West Wales but also Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly as often as possible. Most of his smaller paintings are made on location, directly from observation; larger pieces are interpreted back in the studio from notes, sketches, photographs and memories of time and place.

Please call 01600 714527 or e-mail: gallery@greatatlantic.co.uk to reserve the painting of your choice.
