The Great Atlantic Church Street Gallery is pleased to present a new collection of paintings by Paul Sims entitled “North Wales: from the mountains to the sea” (Ngogledd Ngymru: or mynyddoedd ir môr).

Following graduation from Cardiff College of Art in the 1970’s, Paul Sims enjoyed a highly successful career as a graphic designer with the BBC and an award winning advertising creative director until stepping out of the rat race in 2003 by moving to St Ives in Cornwall. In his new life he has returned to his roots and become a full time artist; and a highly successful one at that.

Of this, his second show with The Great Atlantic Galleries, Cardiff born Paul has this to say: “A few years ago, in my previous career, I was selecting landscapes in Wales to be used as backgrounds in a film version of Cinderella. On my latest visit to North Wales it was a pleasure to view this wonderful part of the world through my painter’s eyes. The whole area can only be inspirational to any artist, whatever their medium. This small collection of paintings shows the diversity of this beautiful terrain, the mountains of Snowdon, the power of the waterfalls, the tranquility of the empty beaches and the ever changing climatic conditions. I hope you have as much pleasure viewing the pictures as I had painting them. Cymru am Byth!”

It is our pleasure to host Paul Sims exhibition of these paintings at The Great Atlantic Church Street Gallery in Monmouth, Wales.
