The Usk near Talybont Michael Strang trained at Wimbledon and Camberwell Schools of Art, 1968 to 1973 and has painted for a living ever since. His work has been shown in many galleries, including some in Londons Bond St. and Cork St. and he enjoyed considerable commercial success at the former Bryan Forbes Gallery in Virginia Water, Surrey. A series of over 50 small Porthmeor Paintings were shown at the Tate Gallery, St. Ives in their Century of Images exhibition In 1995. In 2005 a major retrospective exhibition was shown at the Brecknock Museum & Art Gallery in Brecon as a testament to the years that he lived and worked in South Wales. His paintings can be found in many private and public collections including those of the Penlee House Museum, Penzance, the Cheltenham & Gloucester Building Society, Cornwall County Education Committee and the Church of St. Martins-in-the-fields.
