Eric Pentecost was born in Brighton, Sussex in 1951. He was recognised as a young artist in his early days and managed to gain a place at the West Sussex College of Art and Design in 1968.
He continued with his art through the years on a spare time basis, also producing illustrations for local companies from time to time. He settled down with his wife Sally in the West Country in the late 1970’s and started selling artwork at local exhibitions around Bristol and Bath.
In 2000, Eric gained a number of important painting commissions which fired up his passion as an artist, in 2006 he completed a study in Life Drawing at the Bristol Academy of Art and has recently had work accepted in a major Art Exhibition in Bath.
“I started painting landscapes in Brittany in 2004 while staying with friends and this work that I have produced is based on a theme called “Towards the Light” which also encompasses the natural ancient landscapes of the mountains of South Wales and the wild Penwith peninsula of Cornwall.”
Since Eric took his first tentative steps as an exhibiting artist at The Great Atlantic Gallery, St Just in 2007, everything he has brought in has promptly sold! We are delighted to be including Eric on the 2008 programme and look forward to helping him to gain the success that he richly deserves.
