Bee Bartletts recent work is in response to visual memory, where the osmosis of a particular image hovers between representation and abstract harmony. It is also a balance between the composition of a painting or drawing and the physical pleasure of the handling of materials. She is searching to find a way of expressing her sensibility through the constant investigation and exploration of surface. The study of the human form, whether through life drawing or capturing gestural movements of people in sketches is endlessly fascinating to me. I am currently incorporating these sketches into paintings as motifs, the quality of a simple line or a rhythm of lines onto an abstract surface as a means of expression. Bee Bartlett studied Art & Design Foundation at the Henley College, continuing on to a BA Fine Art at Central St.Martins, London and then the North Oxon College of Art.
